Wow my first card making class!

Today I taught my first card making class and it was fantastic.... I only had one student but I decided to carry on the class  never the less. It still gave me a 'buzz'. It was interactive, fun, creative, enjoyable...

I did consider cancelling it but my fiancĂ© said just do it!  I did and it was a great experience.
Check out my other blog www.sweetcherrycards.blogspot.com for more on my class today. Here are some pics from class

Thanks for coming by. Check out my blog on Tuesday to see Day 2 of class...

HANDMADE GRADUATION AND WEDDING CARDS

Handmade Graduation Card

In the month of June, there are two events for which congratulations
are in order....weddings and graduations. June is a very popular month for weddings but not the only one ...August is also very popular.

In celebration of these two events I decided to do two cards- one for each event... I did the graduation card in black and white(it is of course for a more mature graduate at University or High School/Secondary School). For a younger age, I would suggest softer colours.

Handmade Congratulations Wedding Card

The wedding card was done in teal and green. I used glitter card stock, ribbon, stamps, double sided foam tape. This wedding card can double as an anniversary card or a wedding invitation card by changing the colours and the stamped greetings. You can remove the glitter card stock  if you are doing invitations as these are more expensive than cardstock. To make the wedding invitation more affordable you can replace the glittered card stock with plain card stock which you can emboss using embossing machines like the big shot by Sizzix.

Hope you like these handmade cards and don't forget to leave a comment at the end of the post.

Happy Father's Day!

To all the wonderful fathers out there. I wish you all a Happy Father's Day.
For a look at my new cards for 2014. Check out my other blog www.sweetcherrycards.blogspot.com

All my new creations will be posted there from now on.

My cards mainly carry a nautical theme. I like to use, the colours, blue, green, brown, and yellow when I do my male cards. Even though I don't swim I love the seaside.... maybe its because I live on an island. I also did one garden theme and one with a beer theme and a few bbq themes. I love a good BBQ.

For my Father's day wishes, I used very simple lines e.g.

"Hope you have a day filled with fun and laughter."
"This is your day, Dad ...to just relax without interruptions."
"Hey Dad...you are my No.1...Happy Father's Day"

It's been a while since I have posted on here. About a year
probably . During that time what have I been up to?
Well I am sure by looking at the photos of the latest cards, you will see that I have been working hard to improve the design of my cards. Also, attempted the design of wedding invitations and lots more.

I must say that making cards give me great joy and its pleases me when my customers either cry, exclaim aloud, become over exhuberant, Thank me profusely when they receive my cards.

That is my greatest joy.... to see their surprise with the results of their very sketchy idea of what the card should center on. I love that. I normally add a few stickers here, some glitter here, sometimes I hand cut my own images for them and they LOVE them.

I am truly grateful for this gift and I will continue to keep producing great stuff for my customers....

Here are some of my 2012 creations...Hope you love them as much as I loved them....

Happy Mother's Day

Just want to wish every MOM a very Happy Mother's Day! May your day be filled with lots of joy, lots of laughter and the love of family.

Now I am a mom as well but I will be spending Mother's Day with my mom, sisters, brothers, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, dad and my son. We will also be celebrating one of my sisters' birthday on that day (belated). One of my cousins will also celebrate her birthday on Mother's Day so she gets one present (sorry cuz).

A big meal is planned that day, from what I hear as we were told to make sure we have a lot of room in our stomachs for 2 different types of meat dishes, pies, salads and lots more.

Looking forward to it......
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 2011

More Cardmaking tips

I was just revisiting the crafter's companion site to see what was new and if there was any info that I can find to help other persons who craft and read my blog and I found a couple things.

There are embossing boards you can purchase to work along with your ultimate crafter's companion. There is a christmas themed one, the teddy surprise and
butterfly boards, celebration embossing bundle, spring time sweet and cupcake treats, snowman delight and candlelight embossing board, angel wings and fancy things embossing boards.

They cost from $12.95 to $39.95. Dont forget to get yourself some embossing ink and a heating tool to complete the process. You will surely make some one smile with your creations.....
